This show was originally supposed to be set in the 1920s not the 1950s. Henry Winkler didn’t expect to get the role of Fonzie when he saw Monkees drummer Micky Dolenz at the audition for the same role. Shortly after Winkler was diagnosed with dyslexia he only had six lines for this role but still made up his lines, since he had trouble reading them.
