In this movie, the star is an astronaut who is attempting to stop an evil scientist from the 41st century. Having an interest in science fiction, Roger Vadim was hired to direct this film because of his interest in comics and science fiction. For the lead role he auditioned many females until he decided to have his then wife Jane Fonda cast for this role.
